Community Outreach Ministries was established in 2003, to work with people from all walks of life from caregivers, county jail inmates, law enforcement officers, high school athletes, victims of severe trauma, and many others. By far the great majority of the people we serve are “unchurched” with no minister or church family to help point them to hope in a compassionate, merciful healing Father.

COM is committed to show up in the critical moments of people’s lives, helping some in times of death and others to fully live life. Through our efforts, an audience of nearly 4000 people are touched annually and they often represent those who may fall through the cracks of conventional ministries.

Showing Up in People's Lives...

In the past year, we expanded more than ever in our 15-year history, highlighted by such milestones as:

  • Convened a Summit on Church Security with the Sheriff and other area law enforcement agencies

  • Trained and launched chaplaincy programs for the Franklin and Nolensville police departments

  • Held an Outside the Lines/Kickoff for Christ father-son event for over 150 high school athletes

  • Developed and launched a New Design for Living Program for a local church, offering spiritual growth and 12 Step recovery principles to all church members

  • Launched a new Inmate Chaplaincy Team at the local jail.

  • NEARLY 4000 Personal Ministry Contacts in the Year… including: walking with families in times of death or suicide; serving all sides of marriage development or crisis situations—premarital counseling for new couples, marriage enrichment and support for couples in growth or crisis, and even walking with some thru the pain of divorce; regular visits to officer’s rollcall/briefings; Bible studies in the community and in the jail; inmate visits; life-coaching for leadership and addiction recovery; and conducting a weekly worship service for Somerby senior living center
